This year's National Family Day celebration will be held on the 3rd of May with the theme "Keluargaku, Harapanku". The Department of Community Development, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports held a Kesyukuran Ceremony at Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque, Tutong Town, 2nd May afternoon.

Present was Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications as Acting Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The event included a lecture titled "The Sakinah Family: Built with love, protected with responsibility" which among other things touched on the importance of building a Sakinah or happy family based on love that is not only felt, but also expressed through good communication.
